What is Mode in Math

The mode of a number series is the number that is repeated most often. It is used in statistics and math. A number series is a set of several numbers. They can be either integer numbers or fractions.

To calculate the mode, it is recommended to arrange all the numbers from the data set in an ascending order. For example, you have a set of numbers {7, 8, 3, 5, 6, 8}. After changing the order, you get {3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8}. As we see, the number 8 is most often repeated here, which means 8 is the mode of this series of numbers. If all numbers are presented only once, then this series has no mode. If there are several numbers that are repeated more often than others and the same number of times, then the series will have several modes.
